Ard Vissers is the owner of Vissers Plant Innovators. Innovation is a common theme running through all layers of the organization. According to Ard, you can find opportunities and possibilities everywhere. You can gain valuable insights precisely by looking at things from a different perspective. Bato played a huge part in one of those insights.
The need for a custom-made meter trough
"About two years ago, I developed a new system for our greenhouses with tray growing systems. We succeeded in significantly reducing the amount of shade in our greenhouse. To achieve that, we narrowed the gutters. The old gutters accounted for as much as 20% of the shade cast on the ground. This impacted the results. The narrower gutter was a good starting point, but that meant the next stage were trays that would fit the new dimensions."
Developing the Vi-Ba tray
In consultation with my adviser at Bato, we developed a new tray: the Vi-Ba (Vissers-Bato). This tray for cuttings fits perfectly into our new gutters. The Vi-Ba tray makes the innovation circle complete. It is good to know that I can always go to Bato with new ideas and suggestions. Because no matter how good your idea, if no one is willing - or able - to produce it, it will not materialize. The engineers at Bato take on a pro-active role and devote a lot of serious time and energy to every idea. That inspires confidence and ensures I am a very satisfied customer."
